If we used Osmosis on the eggs,then the high concentration of the water allows the cell to shrink because,Osmosis lets water out of the cell. If you used Diffusion on the eggs, then the egg will grow because, Diffusion allows water to enter the cell membrane so the egg will expand. (Diffusion and Osmosis occurs in both solutions. Osmosis is the passing of molecules through a membrane. Diffusion is the desire of molecules to even their density.)

The materials we used for the experiment were water, four eggs, corn syrup, salt water, vinegar,table salt, three cups, and a scale.Reason being to see the effect of eggs in Hypo-tonic and Hyper-tonic solutions.With Hypo-tonic and hyper-tonic solutions we got to see what effects of Diffusion and Osmosis.
Procedure
We did our experiment in 3-4 easy steps over three days we saw Osmosis and Diffusion happen in the egg which is one large cell. Our first step was to weigh each egg before putting them in vinegar for three days.Over three days after being put in the vinegar,we weighed the mass of the eggs before switching up the solutions and putting one egg in salt water,egg one weighed the mass of 89 grams,egg two was 90 grams,then egg three weighed 97 grams.
Observations
When the eggs were removed from their solutions, the vinegar egg had no shell because the shell was lifted off the egg and the vinegar absorbed the shell making it disappear.In vinegar the eggs were 89-97 grams,which is larger than a normal egg that has the mass of 65 grams. With Diffusion,when the egg is in hot water/salt water, the egg doesn't pop like many think reason being the temperature of the water causes it to grow at a certain time.For example if the egg was in cold water it'd take longer to expand rather then being in room temperature water which would grown at and normal pace, but with hot water the temperature causes the egg to expand very quickly.(Temperature was not a variable in the experiment)
Conclusion
With the egg experiment we learned that in a hypo-tonic solution, the egg will shrink example being,egg one went from 89 grams to 39 grams because of Osmosis.Then the egg in an hyper-tonic solution, the egg will grow,for example egg three was 90 grams then went to 94 grams with the effect of Diffusion if the egg was kept in the hyper-tonic solution the egg would've probably grown a lot more.

The reason we're alive today is because of Osmosis.Osmosis is keeping us alive since without Osmosis we'd be giants and eventually our cells would die. So with no Osmosis just Diffusion we'd be basically waiting to die.
